Calling All Nurses In Winnipeg!
Red River College is inviting you to become a voluntary mentor to an Internationally Educated Nurse in the IEN Workplace Partnership Program!
This program matches Internationally Educated Nurses with Practicing Nurses for support and voluntary mentorship as part of the 6-month Bridging Program for Internationally Educated Nurses (BPIEN) at Red River College.
The program requires a commitment of 5 hours of time over 5 weeks in June (and possibly July), plus an orientation session that will take place before June 20, 2010.
As a Practicing Nurse, you benefit from helping an IEN to succeed in the Canadian nursing profession while enhancing you own cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity, gaining new leadership & professional development skills, and increasing your own self-knowledge. As well, the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) recognizes the IENWPP as an excellent resource.
Internationally Educated Nurses in this program benefit from increased self esteem and confidence, exposure to new areas of nursing, a deepened understanding of the nursing workplace culture/scope/practice, and an opportunity to ask questions in a supportive environment as they prepare for a successful Canadian nursing career.
