2007년 위니펙 포클로라마(FOLKLORAMA) 축제가 8월5일부터 18일까지
2주동안 열립니다.
올해 한인회 주관으로 운영되는 Korean Povolion은 작년과 마찬가지로
J.B. Mitchell School 에서 2주간의 포클로라마 행사중 첫번째 주간동안

작년과 다른 것은 매년 한국에서 무용단을 초청해 왔는데, 올해는 한국에서 오는
무용단없이 한인회 무용단원들만으로 공연을 하게 됩니다.

전문적인 무용단이 아니라서 무대위에서 공연함에 있어서 미숙한 점이 있을지는
모르나, 포클로라마 행사의 의미로 볼 때 각 민족의 고유 문화를 자녀들에게
가르치고 간직하는 것이 당연한 것입니다.
올해는 한국관 행사의 공연부터 운영까지 교민만의 힘으로 운영하게 되어
교민 모두의 축제가 될 듯 싶습니다.
주위의 캐나디언 이웃들에게 한국관 선전을 많이 해주시고 이 기회가 캐나디언이
한국의 문화를 조금 더 이해하고 접근할 수 있는 기회가 되면 좋겠습니다.
또, 한국관(Korean Pavilion) 운영에는 많은 교민분들이 자원봉사로 참여하고

One of the fun components of Folklorama in the past was bringing your Folklorama Passport to each pavilion and receiving a stamp at the door. The Passport had all of your admission tickets and a place to have your Passport stamped – imitating the actual process of entering a new country. When the admissions changed in 1995 the Passport was replaced by a Guide and single admissions purchased at the door of the pavilion. Stamping became another piece of history.
