다운타운(Downtown) 속에 있으면서도 다운타운 같지 않은 곳이 Red River 강가의 Exchang District 지역이 아닐까 생각됩니다.
Exchang District 는 위니펙(Winnipeg) 다운타운의 구시가지 중심지역으로 역사가 오래된 건물이 많고 시카고와 비슷한 분위기를 풍겨서 할리우드 영화제작자들이 많아 찾아 영화를 찍는 곳이기도 하고, 각종 공연장과 갤러리가 많은 지역이기도 합니다. Exchang District 는 Main St.를 중심으로 동서로 나뉘는데, 유람선 선착장이 있는 곳은 Exchang District 동쪽지역입니다.

여름에 WaterFront Dr.를 끼고 자동차 드라이브를 해도 좋고, The Forks에 차를 주차시키고 Red River 강변을 따라 이곳까지 산책을 해도 좋은 곳입니다.

Scots Monument 에 대한 설명
The 18 foot high monument is dedicated to Thomas Douglas, the fifth Earl of Selkirk and marks the historical origins of Manitoba as a European settled territory. It also honours people of Scottish origin and their descendants who settled in the provinces, territories and districts of Canada. Located on the west bank of the Red River, north of Alexander Docks off Alexander Avenue.
이 지역에 Fort Douglas 가 1812년부터 1824년까지 존재했었다는 기념표석입니다.
산책로에서 바라본 유람선 선착장.
유람선 두 대가 부두에 있습니다. 여름에 낮에는 주로 관광을, 밤에는 저녁식사파티를 유람선에서 합니다. 유람선 뒤로 보이는 철교 뒤로 조금 가면 The Forks가 있습니다.
